V-shaped Tear Notch
The most popular standard style. A V-cut is made on the sealing edge to create a stress starting point. It is labor-saving and cost-effective, widely used in stand-up pouches, 3-side seal snack bags and foil bags. The downside is unstable tearing direction, which may cause uneven tearing.
U-shaped Tear Notch
With larger curved opening, it is easy to identify and hard to close under extrusion during shipment. It delivers comfortable user experience, ideal for premium food packaging and cosmetic sachets.
Sawtooth Edge (Wave Edge)
Continuous serrated edges along the seal without separate notches. Users can tear from any position. Commonly used for small disposable bags and mask pouches. Note: thick laminated films are hard to tear only with serrated edges; combining with tear notches is recommended.
Perforated Tear Line
Continuous dotted holes guide straight tearing for clean opening. Widely applied in coffee bags, pet food bags and large stand-up pouches. Minor weakness: tiny holes bring slight risk of air leakage, not recommended for high-barrier vacuum goods.
Laser Score Tear Line
Laser shallow engraving only damages the surface film without penetrating the whole layer. It balances airtight performance and easy opening, ensuring straight tearing without pinholes. Perfect for vacuum food, powder and essence requiring high barrier property, with relatively higher production cost.
Peel-off Easy-seal Edge
Optimized sealing formula enables horizontal peeling without notches, leaving smooth edges without debris. Mainly adopted for vacuum chilled meat packages.
