►Types of Tear Notch:
✅ V-shaped tear notch
The most popular and cost-effective option. A V-cut on the seal concentrates stress for easy starting tear. Low cost and fast lead time, widely used for snack pouches, stand-up pouches and foil bags. Shortcoming: tear line may go uneven sometimes.
✅ U-shaped tear notch
Rounded cut, comfortable to touch and safer without sharp edges. Ideal for premium packaging such as cosmetic sachets and gourmet food. Price is slightly higher than V-notch.
✅ Sawtooth / wave edge tear
Continuous serrated seal edge. You can start tearing anywhere without searching for a notch. Best for thin disposable sachets. Not recommended alone for thick laminated films, which are hard to tear.
✅ Laser scoring tear line
Laser marks a shallow trace on the outer film layer without breaking the barrier layer. It delivers straight, clean and controlled tear. Perfect for foil and high-barrier laminated bags for sauce, powder and premium snacks. Higher cost.
✅ Perforated tear line
A line of tiny holes creates a fixed tear path. Suitable for bulk and re-sealable packs. Please note improper dense holes may cause accidental opening during transit.
